Patna, Sept. 22 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone for several major road construction projects, including the expansion of the JP Ganga Path up to Koilwar.
The CM inaugurated the expansion work of the JP Ganga Path project, a 35.65 km stretch from Digha-Sherpur-Bihta (Koilwar bridge approach road), at an estimated cost of Rs 6,495.79 crore. Once completed, the extended corridor will improve connectivity between Patna-Ara-Buxar National Highway (NH-922), the Purvanchal Expressway (Lucknow-Ghazipur), and Ara-Mohania National Highway (NH-319).
It is also expected to ease congestion on the Danapur-Chhitnawan-Maner Road (old NH-30) and improve access to NIT Patna, IIT Patna, and the upcoming Bihta airport.
