Patna, Sept. 7 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reaffirmed his government's commitment to women's empowerment, saying that every possible effort is being made to make women self-reliant and improve their standard of living.
Speaking at the launching event of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana, Kumar said here that the scheme, which was approved on August 29 is aimed at creating employment opportunities for women, increasing family income, and reducing distress migration from Bihar.
Kumar inaugurated the process of receiving applications under the scheme, along with an online portal for applicants from urban areas. He also flagged off 250 awareness vehicles to spread information about the programme across the state.
