Patna, Aug. 10 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today disbursed Rs 1,247.34 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 1.12 crore beneficiaries under the state's Social Security Pension Scheme.

Speaking at a programme here, Kumar said, "The amount, sent via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), covered the July pension of Rs 1,100 for senior citizens, widows, and persons with disabilities across the state."

He expressed satisfaction over the timely payments and reiterated his directive that pension amounts should be credited to beneficiaries' accounts by the 10th of every month without exception. He also instructed the officials to promptly include any missing eligible individuals in the beneficiary list.
