Patna, Sept. 17 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today greeted the nation on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and extended warm wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.

Marking the twin occasions, the Chief Minister announced a major welfare initiative for construction workers under the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. He said that a total of Rs 802.46 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of 16,04,929 construction workers across the state. Each worker will receive Rs 5,000 under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme.
