Patna, June 28 -- Bihar Chief Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today instructed the police administration to take stern action against criminals and trouble mongers and hoped that the newly appointed police personnel will discharge their responsibilities with utmost care.
While distributing appointment letters to the newly appointed 21391 police personnel here, Kumar said that there is rule on law in the state since his government came to power on November 24, 2005.
Speaking about the law and order situation in the previous government, Kumar said that no one dared to step out of their house at that time. He said the police strength was too low and against a sanctioned strength of 51000, only 42481 police personnel were in the work force.
