Patna, Oct. 3 -- The Bihar Government today approved a three percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners, aligning their benefits with those of Central government staff.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department Arvind Kumar told media persons here that the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Presently, state government employees were receiving 55 percent DA, which will now rise to 58 percent following the hike approved by the cabinet, he added.
"All state government employees and pensioners will get 58 percent DA with effect from July 1, 2025," Kumar said, adding that the decision would provide relief to both serving and retired staff.
