New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The government's top think tank, NITI Aayog, today called for training, certification, and the use of technology to enhance guest experience and local benefits, as part of a broader strategy to improve the homestay industry, which has become a popular way for tourists to stay in local homes and experience authentic Indian culture.

Drawing upon insights from aggregators, hosts, and policymakers, NITI Aayog launched a report titled "Rethinking Homestays: Navigating Policy Pathways" in collaboration with the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
