NITES seeks accountability from TCS skipping CLC meeting
Bengaluru, Aug. 1 -- In a significant development that continues to stir concern within the IT sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) did not appear at a scheduled meeting with the Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) in New Delhi today. The meeting was convened to address allegations brought forth by the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) over indefinite onboarding delays affecting more than 600 lateral hires and the layoff of around 12,000 employees.
Despite being formally notified by the CLC office, TCS failed to send a representative to the joint discussion. NITES, however, was represented by its Joint Secretary Rajneesh Kumar, who attended the meeting and reiterated the union's demands for accountability and redressal....
