Chennai, March 29 -- The Space Applications Centre (SAC)-ISRO in Association with In-SPACe
and NSIL organized a one-Day NISAR Awareness Workshop on Saturday.
The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR), a collaborative mission of SAC, ISRO and
NASA and JPL, is a sweep SAR based dual-frequency SAR mission comprising L-band SAR developed by JPL-NASA and S-band SAR developed by SAC-ISRO and is scheduled for launch
in mid-2025 from ISRO SDSC-SHAR.
NISAR will provide high resolution and wide swath imaging of global landmass including polar cryosphere and coastal oceans, supporting applications in multiple disciplines.
