Annamaiah (Andhra Pradesh), July 14 -- In a major accident, nine people lost their lives and 12 others sustained injuries when a mango-laden lorry overturned at the Reddycheruvu embankment in Pullampet mandal of Annamaiah district on Sunday night.
According to police, the victims were part of a group of 21 agricultural labourers from Chettigunta Colony in Tirupati district. They had travelled to Isukapalli village in Rajampet mandal to harvest mangoes and were returning with the produce to Railway Koduru market in the same lorry.
The lorry reportedly lost control and overturned on the embankment, crushing the labourers under the heavy load of mangoes.
