Hollywood City, Sept. 10 -- Nina Dobrev has shed light on the entrenched gender pay gap she encountered during her tenure on "The Vampire Diaries", disclosing that despite anchoring the show's narrative, she was consistently compensated less than her male counterparts.
In Samantha Highfill's new book, 'I Was Feeling Epic: An Oral History of The Vampire Diaries', Dobrev recalled that she, Candice King and Kat Graham were the lowest-paid cast members during the show's early years. Her initial contract stipulated only her role as Elena Gilbert, yet she simultaneously took on the demanding portrayal of Katherine Pierce, effectively doubling her workload.
