Itanagar, Oct. 4 -- In a remarkable feat of endurance and teamwork, a team of 38 mountaineers from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), Dirang has successfully summited Mt Gorichen Main (6,488 m) and Mt Gorichen East (6,222 m) - two of the most formidable peaks in Arunachal Pradesh's Eastern Himalayas.

Out of the 38-member expedition team, 14 mountaineers reached the summit of Mt Gorichen (6,488 m) on September 24 and 26, while 11 climbers scaled Gorichen East (6,222 m) on September 25.

The climbers braved unpredictable terrain, severe snowstorms, and continuous rockfall between Camp-I and the Summit Camp - one of the most hazardous sections of the route.
