Dharamshala, Aug. 2 -- In a bid to strengthen air connectivity and promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh, the state government has approached the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to introduce night landing facilities at Kangra Airport.
The airport currently operates only during the daytime and is often affected by adverse weather, resulting in flight cancellations or returns, which causes inconvenience to passengers and limits air traffic.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has written to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, requesting the commencement of special VFR (Visual Flight Rules) operations at the airport.
