Shillong, May 8 -- The Meghalaya government on Thursday imposed a night curfew along the India-Bangladesh border due to the current situation in neighbouring country and to prevent infiltration, militant movement, and illegal cross-border activities.
In a separate order, the District Magistrates of East Khasi Hills R.M.Kurbah and West Jaintia Hills Abhinav Kumar Singh has enforced the night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am within a 1-kilometre radius from the international border.
The curfew will remain in force for two months.
