Srinagar, Jan. 27 -- The night chill persisted in the Kashmir Valley, though there was a slight improvement as Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of -5.5degC on Monday, officials reported.

This was 4.6degC below the average for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecast generally dry weather till January 29. There is a possibility of fresh spells of light rain/snow at isolated places during January 29 night and January 30 and 31. Overall, there is nothing significant till the end of January.
