New Delhi, July 7 -- In the latest tech developments, NDPC (Nigeria Data Protection Commission) has imposed a fine on MultiChoice Nigeria, which is a joint venture.

The NDPC is a statutory regulating body that is responsible for overseeing the data privacy regulations in Nigeria.

NDPC accused MultiChoice Nigeria, a leading provider of television services in Nigeria of data breach charges. The announcement of fine imposition has come from Babatunde Bamigboye (Head of Legal, Enforcement and Regulations, NDPC).

He said that the fine was imposed in line with the investigation launched in the second quarter of 2024 for data breach accusations on MultiChoice Nigeria.
