Imphal, July 31 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key conspirator behind the brutal killing of six individuals-including three children and three women-in the Borebekra area of Jiribam district, Manipur, police said today.

The horrific incident, which occurred on November 11, 2024, sent shockwaves through the region.

The victims, three women and children all Meiteis, were abducted and murdered by suspected Kuki militants. Their bodies were later disposed of in the Barak river.

In a statement released today, the NIA confirmed the arrest of Thanglienlal Hmar alias Boya, a resident of Moinathol Dilkshosh Ghaat in Assam's Cachar district.
