New Delhi, Oct. 30 -- A Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Lucknow sentenced one accused to imprisonment besides imposing a fine in a case related to a terror conspiracy by the banned Al-Qaeda organisation based in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The court sentenced Mohammad Moid of Lucknow to the period he had already spent in prison - one year, nine months, and thirteen days - along with a fine of Rs. 5,000 under Section 25(1B)(a) of the Arms Act, read with Section 120B of the IPC. The sentence was pronounced after the accused pleaded guilty.
