Chandigarh, Dec. 4 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday carried out extensive searches across multiple states as part of an ongoing probe into an illegal arms and ammunition trafficking network active in northern India. According to officials, coordinated raids were conducted at 22 locations spanning Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The operation is believed to be connected to a wider network involved in the unlawful movement of ammunition from Uttar Pradesh into various districts of Bihar. Investigators suspect that the supply chain may have been feeding elements with possible links to extremist groups.
