New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Barmer in Rajasthan, seeking report within two weeks in an incident related to alleged branding students by their teacher with a hot iron rod over bedwetting issues.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and prompting the NHRC to intervene in the matter.

The NHRC said in a statement here today that it has issued notices to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Barmer, directing them to submit a detailed report within two weeks. The report is to include the health status of the victimised students, said the rights body.
