New Delhi, April 23 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) urged the authorities to take "appropriate" action in the matter concerning the alleged inhumane and unregulated duty hours for the postgraduate medical students at medical colleges across the nation.

Responding to the complaints filed by Dr Lakshya Mittal, Chairperson, United Doctors Front (UDF), on Wednesday, the Commission acknowledged that the allegations levelled in the grievance raised by the medical professional are "serious violations of the Human Rights of the victims."In Wednesday's order, Sparsh Agarwal, Deputy Registrar, Law Division, directed the Chairman, National Medical Commission (NMC), and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to conduct an inquiry and sub...
