Puri, Nov. 28 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), today, issued bailable warrants against the District Magistrate, Puri and the Manager of the TPCODL, for failing to comply with its directive.

The NHRC, while adjudicating a compensation case against electrocution of a six-year-old boy following amputation of a hand on July 21 had directed the power supply company to pay Rs.two lakh in 15 days as an interim payment, and to send the compliance report to the NHRC. The commission also sent two reminders to the CEO and the district magistrate, but no action was taken.
