Kendrapara, March 29 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Odisha Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to ensure that the general public does not face the predicament of sorcery and witchcraft in the future.
The apex rights body further directed that necessary strict action, by the law, be taken against individuals indulging in witchcraft activities to ensure such crimes do not go unpunished.
Additionally, the Chief Secretary and DGP were instructed to organize year-round awareness campaigns across Odisha to combat the menace of witchcraft.
