Kendrapara, April 3 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Superintendent of Police, Bhadrak, to expedite the investigation on a priority basis to rescue the missing minor child.
The Commission also asked the Bhadrak SP to submit a further status report within four weeks, failing which the Commission shall be constrained to invoke coercive processes under Section 13 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
The NHRC passed the order while acting on a petition filed by Sagar Kumar Jena, a human rights activist.
