Itanagar, Dec. 23 -- In a landmark achievement for India's clean energy sector, NHPC Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Government of India, has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of its first unit (Unit-2 of 250 MW) of the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, India's largest hydropower project, located on the Arunachal Pradesh-Assam border, on Tuesday.
The commercial operation of the unit was inaugurated virtually by union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, who lauded the achievement as a proud milestone in NHPC's journey.
