Itanagar, Feb. 1 -- NHPC Limited, a Navratna PSU under the union Ministry of Power achieved two significant milestones during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday at its 2,000 MW (8x250 MW) Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) located in Arunachal Pradesh-Assam border, further strengthening India's energy security, grid stability, and clean energy transition.
The first milestone was the successful synchronisation of the third unit (Unit-1 of 250 MW) with the National Grid at 9 pm on January 31. Subsequently, the commercial operation of the second unit (Unit-3 of 250 MW) was declared at 12 midnight on February 1, adding another 250 MW of clean hydropower to the National Grid, a statement from the NHPC said.
