Shimla, May 11 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has restrained authorities in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu from carrying out any further construction or change of land use inside Nehru Park after allegations that a proposed waste-handling facility was being developed in violation of environmental norms.
Hearing an application filed by Sanjay Kapoor, the Principal Bench of the tribunal on May 8 ordered the Municipal Council, Kullu, and other respondents to halt all activity linked to the proposed Material Recovery Facility (MRF) inside the park area at Sarvari till further orders.
