Nashik, Jan. 6 -- Taking cognizance of a complaint regarding the felling of old, British-era banyan trees for the construction of a road connecting to the Samruddhi Mahamarg, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued interim orders directing that no trees should be cut down in the entire Nashik district without following the legal process and obtaining permission.

Earlier, the tribunal had temporarily stayed the proposed tree felling in Tapovan.
