Rio de Janeiro, Dec. 23 -- Santos forward Neymar has undergone successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, the Brazilian Serie A club said.
Brazil national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar carried out the arthroscopy at the Mater Dei Nova Lima hospital in the southern city of Belo Horizonte.
"The surgery was a success, and the player is doing well," read a statement on Santos' official website.
It added that the 33-year-old was discharged on Monday afternoon and will "immediately begin" his rehabilitation process, coordinated by physiotherapist Rafael Martini.
