Chennai, March 22 -- Batting for enhanced representation of Southern States
in Parliament, Telangana Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy on Saturday offered
to hold the next Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting on the delimitation in
Hyderabad.
In his address at the first JAC meet organised by the Tamil Nadu government
here against the delimitation by the BJP-led Government based on population,
he said the Southern States have 130 seats in the Lok Sabha as against 543,
which was a mere 24 per cent.
Stating that any reduction in the number of seats under the Delimitation exercise
would grossly affect the Southern states, he said the 24 per cent of seats from the
South should be enhanced to at least 33 per cent to ensure more representation...
