Aizawl, Dec. 22 -- The newly elected members of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) were formally sworn in today, marking the first sitting of the 25-member council amid intense political manoeuvring over the formation of the next executive committee.
Protem Chairman Lallura Chinzah administered the oath of office to 24 newly elected members of the District Council (MDCs) at the LADC Hall in Lawngtlai town in southern Mizoram. Earlier in the day, Chinzah himself was sworn in as protem chairman, with the oath administered by Lawngtlai district deputy commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga.
