Gangtok, Aug. 2 -- At the Himalayan Zoological Park in Gangtok, joy is spreading through the green hills and cool air.
In a corner of the red panda enclosure, a mother named Lucky is carefully tending to her two tiny cubs, born just days ago. Their father, Mirak watches from a shaded branch above, his calm presence completing the picture of a proud new family.
The cubs have not yet been named, but they are already capturing hearts. With their soft red fur
and wide curious eyes, they mark a special moment not just for the zoo, but for wildlife lovers, conservationists, and everyone in Sikkim; the red panda being the state animal.
Lucky, aged five and Mirak, aged three, are part of a conservation story that's been ongoing since 1997.
