Chennai, Feb. 14 -- A fresh Low Pressure Area will form over the Bay in the next 48 hours,Met office said on Saturday.
In an update, it said rainfall occurred over Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, while dry weatherprevailed over rest of the districts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
It said yesterday's upper air cyclonic circulation over East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoiningSoutheast Bay of Bengal extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level persists over the sameregion at 0830 hrs today.
Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over central parts of South Bay of Bengaland adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean during the next 48 hours.
