Jharsuguda (Odisha), Sept. 27 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the new GST reforms, implemented nationwide from September 22, including in Odisha, are a "gift of savings for all," particularly making kitchen expenses more affordable for mothers and sisters.

Addressing a large gathering at Amlipali in western Odisha, Modi noted that the GST Savings Festival has brought immense joy to women. He highlighted Odisha's agrarian roots and emphasised that the festival is especially beneficial for farmers. Recalling the opposition era, he said farmers previously paid Rs 70,000 in taxes while purchasing a tractor.
