Eluru, Jan. 7 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to expedite the construction works of the Polavaram project being constructed across the River Godavari in the district.
The Chief Minister inspected the project's construction works and inquired with the officials in detail about their progress. Later speaking to mediapersons, the Chief Minister said that the construction of a new diaphragm wall would be completed by February 15 and a target set to complete all the Phase I works by March 2027 to release water.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government was forced to spend an additional Rs 1000 crore for constructing a new diaphragm wall.
