Kolkata, July 3 -- With months to go before the crucial assembly polls in West Bengal, Samik Bhattacharya blew the poll bugle on the first day after taking over the responsibility of the state BJP president from Sukanta Majumdar today.
Speaking soon after assuming office, Bhattacharya accused the Trinamool Congress of unleashing "barbarism" following their 2021 electoral win. "This party does not believe in democracy. There is no democracy left in Bengal. This election is no longer about any party-this time, it is the people who will answer back. The people will immerse Trinamool in the Bay of Bengal," he declared.
