Parwinder SandhuJaipur, Jan. 15 -- The 78th Army Day Parade marked the debut of the Indian Army's newly raised Bhairav battalions, which emerged as the highlight of the event in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Showcased for the first time were the 2 Bhairav Battalion (Rajputana Rifles) and the 4 Bhairav Battalion (Sikh Light Infantry), both reflecting the Army's evolving combat capabilities.

Named after Bhairav, the fierce and protective form of Lord Shiva, the 2 Bhairav Battalion is the newest and most formidable addition to the Indian Army's Order of Battle. Raised on 01 August 2025 at the Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre in New Delhi, it embodies the ethos of vigilance, strength and swift, decisive action.
