Srinagar, March 12 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said they have in principle never favoured decisions like banning parties.
He said that banning any group is not in the hands of the elected government.
The Centre on Tuesday banned the Awami Action Committee (AAC) headed by Kashmir Chief Cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM) led by Masroor Abbas Ansari- for five years for their alleged anti-national activities and fuelling secessionist activities.
"The intelligence on which this( ban) happened was not shared with us. On principle, we have never been in favour of such decisions. As long as I saw Mirwaiz after being released from house arrest, he did nothing untoward. B...
