Lucknow, April 14 -- In a push to strengthen urban infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an ambitious initiative to enhance the road network in the state capital, Lucknow, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, sources said here on Monday.
Sources said that under the Quick Economic Development Scheme, a comprehensive plan has been formulated to construct over 100 roads across both cities in 2025-26. "The project includes the large-scale construction of CC roads, interlocking tiles, and modern drainage systems. The Rural Engineering Department has been designated as the nodal agency for the implementation of the project," they said.
