Jerusalem/Beirut, Aug. 25 -- In a surprising statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday proposed a phased reduction of IDF troops in Lebanon and agreed to dial back its airstrikes, once hardline Islamic group Hezbollah was disarmed.
In an official statement, Netanyahu wrote on X: "Israel acknowledges the significant step taken by the Lebanese Government, under the leadership of President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam...
