Kolkata, Sept. 10 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is closely monitoring the volatile situation in neighbouring Nepal and its potential impact on the state, which shares a long stretch of border with the Himalayan nation.
Around midnight, Banerjee left the guest room 'Kanyashree' at the Uttarkanya mini-secretariat in Siliguri and moved to her chamber.
From there, she made a series of phone calls, both on mobile and landline, mostly centred on Nepal's unrest and security measures along the Nepal border.
The Chief Minister is currently on a three-day tour to North Bengal. She remained in office till late night, summoning senior police and administrative officials for consultations.
