Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today clarified that her government would act on the Nepal situation only if directed by the Centre.
"Nepal is a neighbouring country. The Government of India will take decisions on such issues. We love our neighbours, but we cannot interfere in their internal matters," she said before flying to Bagdogra from Kolkata Airport.
Appealing for calm in border districts, Banerjee urged people to maintain peace and avoid unrest.
