Kathmandu, April 3 -- Nepalese Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka expressed hope for cooperation with Russia in the energy sector at a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov, Nepalese media reported.
Khadka noted Nepal's goal to generate 28,500 megawatts of electricity by 2035 and expressed hope for cooperation with Russia in achieving this goal, The Himalayan Times newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The minister invited Russian companies to invest in Nepal's power transmission infrastructure, energy storage, smart grids and green energy, the report added.
Novikov, in turn, reportedly said that Russian business is interested in expanding investments in Nepal's energy and hydropower sectors....
