Washington, Oct. 15 -- Neo-soul pioneer and Brown Sugar hitmaker D'Angelo has died at the age of 51, following a battle with pancreatic cancer, a source confirmed to People.
The Grammy-winning artist, born Michael Eugene Archer, had reportedly been hospitalized for several months and spent his final two weeks in hospice care.
TMZ also confirmed the news, reporting that the acclaimed singer passed away after quietly fighting the disease.
