Nelson, Nov. 10 -- The fourth T20 International between New Zealand and the West Indies at Saxton Oval here on Monday was abandoned due to persistent rain, denying fans a possible decider in the ongoing series.
After New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bowl, the West Indies reached 38 for one in 6.3 overs before rain halted play for good. Alick Athanaze, who scored a quick 21 off 18 balls including one four and two sixes, was the only batsman to fall, caught by Daryl Mitchell off James Neesham.
Amir Jangoo remained unbeaten on 12 from 18 balls, while captain Shai Hope was not out on three. Two extras were conceded as the Caribbean side maintained a run rate of 5.85.
