Hyderabad, Feb. 8 -- Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Sunday warned that continued neglect of the environment would have dangerous consequences for the survival of the human race and called for the preservation of traditional agricultural practices to protect nature, soil fertility and human health.

Addressing the concluding session of the three-day Telangana Second Annual Seed Festival at the Earth Centre in Anmasupalli village of Kadthal mandal in Rangareddy district, he said traditional farming methods were crucial for environmental protection. He cautioned that if livestock populations were not increased, land and agriculture could be lost within the next five years.
