Aizawl, Dec. 14 -- Mizoram has made significant progress in the biometric enrolment of refugees from Myanmar taking shelter in the state, completing nearly 70 percent of the exercise so far, even as enrolment remains sluggish in several border districts that host the largest concentrations of displaced people.

Officials of the state Home Department today said that biometric data of 21,325 out of 30,886 Myanmar refugees-amounting to 69.04 per cent-have been captured using the Foreigners Identification Portal (FIP). Two districts, Aizawl and Lunglei, have already completed the enrolment process in full.
