Dharamshala, Aug. 30 -- Ten persons stranded due to flooding in the Beas river near Arni University area of Sub-division Indora were safely rescued on Friday by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
Col. Baljinder Singh Commanding officer 14 Battalion NDRF told UNI that the water level rose suddenly, following release of the water from Ping Dam leaving four men and six women trapped. He said that the pre-positioned NDRF team stationed at Basantpur, Indora, immediately rushed to the site and launched swift evacuation operations under challenging conditions.
Col. Baljinder Singh said that all the 10 persons were safely evacuated, reflecting the professionalism and efficiency of the NDRF personnel.
