Kohima, Oct. 21 -- After the formal merger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) with the Naga People's Front (NPF), Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was unanimously elected as the president of the party for the tenure 2025-2030 at the NPF general convention-cum-63rd foundation day at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here today.

The meeting also elected a new team of NPF central office bearers, the central executive council, and office bearers of the frontals and cells for the term.

It extended full confidence and support to the leadership of Rio as the chief minister and the NPF president.
