Pankaj Jain, Feb. 4 -- New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Wednesday declared Kaka Nagar as its sixth 'Anupam Colony', making it Delhi's first residential colony to adopt a fully mechanised and dust-free cleaning zone.
The declaration was made by NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra, who said the initiative marks a major shift from traditional manual sweeping to modern mechanised sanitation, aimed at improving cleanliness and reducing air pollution.
Under the new system, cleaning operations in Kaka Nagar are being carried out using five push-back mechanical sweepers and one gobbler machine. The move is expected to significantly reduce dust emissions and help improve ambient air quality.
